Liverpool FC times Player Ratings

The 2025/26 season will not be remembered as one of Liverpool’s greatest campaigns. After entering the season as defending Premier League champions, expectations were sky-high. Instead, the Reds endured a difficult year filled with injuries, inconsistency, emotional setbacks, and disappointing results before eventually securing fifth place and UEFA Champions League qualification on the final day. Despite the struggles, several players stood out with strong individual performances, while others failed to meet expectations. At Liverpool FC Times, we have rated Liverpool’s key players based on their overall impact, consistency, performances in big matches, and contribution throughout the season.

Here are our Liverpool FC Times player ratings for the 2025/26 campaign.

Alisson Becker – 8/10

Even though injuries limited his appearances, Alisson once again showed why he remains one of the world’s best goalkeepers. Time and time again he rescued Liverpool with crucial saves, including several match-defining moments during the run-in. Whenever he was available, Liverpool looked far more secure defensively. His absence was often felt more than any outfield player’s. Had he stayed fully fit throughout the season, Liverpool may have collected significantly more points.

Mamardashvili – 7/10

Mamardashvili had big gloves to fill whenever Alisson was unavailable and generally performed admirably. There were occasional mistakes, but he delivered several excellent performances and once again proved he is capable of playing at Premier League level. His professionalism and reliability deserve recognition, particularly during difficult periods of the campaign.

Virgil van Dijk – 8.5/10

Liverpool’s captain remained the team’s most consistent defender throughout a turbulent season. While the defensive unit often struggled around him, Van Dijk continued to provide leadership, composure, and quality. He also contributed important goals and consistently carried the responsibility of organizing a constantly changing back line. Few Liverpool players performed at such a high level across the entire campaign.

Ibrahima Konate – 7.5/10

Konate enjoyed another solid season and was arguably Liverpool’s second-best defender behind Van Dijk. His physicality, pace, and ability in one-on-one situations remained valuable assets. There were moments where concentration lapses crept into his game, but overall he remained one of Liverpool’s more dependable performers.

Andy Robertson – 7/10

The final season of Robertson’s Liverpool career was emotional rather than spectacular. While he no longer possessed the relentless energy that defined his peak years, he still produced important performances and showed his trademark commitment. His farewell at Anfield reminded supporters of just how much he has given to the club over nine remarkable years.

Jeremie Frimpong – 7.5/10

Frimpong brought pace, excitement, and attacking quality whenever he featured. Although adapting to Liverpool’s system was not always straightforward, he demonstrated enough quality to suggest he will become a major player in future seasons. His attacking contributions often gave Liverpool an additional dimension going forward.

Milos Kerkez – 7/10

Kerkez showed promise throughout his first season at Anfield. Defensively, there were understandable learning moments, but his energy and willingness to attack impressed supporters. The young full-back appears to have all the tools required to become Liverpool’s long-term solution on the left side.

Ryan Gravenberch – 8/10

Gravenberch quietly became one of Liverpool’s most important midfielders. His ability to progress the ball, retain possession, and drive through midfield provided much-needed stability during difficult spells. He may not always grab headlines, but his influence on Liverpool’s overall play was undeniable.

Alexis Mac Allister – 8/10

Mac Allister continued to prove why he is one of Liverpool’s most intelligent players. His technical quality, leadership, and versatility made him indispensable. Even when results were disappointing, the Argentine rarely allowed his performance levels to drop. He remains one of the foundations of Liverpool’s midfield moving forward.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 9/10

Liverpool FC Times Player of the Season. No player contributed more consistently than Szoboszlai during the 2025/26 campaign. The Hungarian midfielder finished the season with impressive goal and assist numbers while also becoming Liverpool’s most influential creative force. His performances earned widespread praise throughout the season. Whether scoring spectacular free kicks, driving Liverpool forward from midfield, or creating opportunities for teammates, Szoboszlai was often Liverpool’s brightest spark. Without him, the season could have been far worse.

Curtis Jones – 7.5/10

Jones enjoyed one of his most productive seasons in a Liverpool shirt. He contributed important goals, including the strike that helped secure Champions League qualification against Brentford. While consistency remains an area for improvement, he demonstrated maturity and responsibility throughout the campaign.

Wataru Endo – 6.5/10

Injuries disrupted Endo’s season and prevented him from making the impact many supporters expected. However, whenever called upon, he delivered his usual professionalism and work ethic. His influence was often understated but appreciated by teammates and coaches alike.

Mohamed Salah – 8.5/10

Even in his final season at Liverpool, Salah remained one of the team’s most important players. He contributed goals, assists, and moments of quality despite operating in a side that often struggled for rhythm and consistency. His final assist against Brentford, which secured Champions League football, felt like a fitting final contribution from a Liverpool legend. The farewell he received at Anfield was fully deserved after one of the greatest careers in Liverpool history.

Cody Gakpo – 7/10

Gakpo produced flashes of brilliance but struggled to maintain consistency throughout the campaign. At his best, he looked capable of changing games single-handedly. At other times, he drifted out of matches. Nevertheless, his overall contribution was respectable and he remains an important player for Liverpool’s future.

Hugo Ekitike – 7.5/10

Ekitike finished as Liverpool’s top scorer despite an inconsistent campaign. His goal tally highlighted his natural finishing ability, although periods without goals exposed the need for further development. The injury suffered late in the season was unfortunate, particularly after showing signs of improvement.

Alexander Isak – 6/10

Expectations were enormous, but injuries and inconsistency prevented Isak from making the impact many supporters hoped for. There were glimpses of his quality, but overall it was a frustrating first season. Liverpool fans will expect much more from the Swedish forward next year.

Florian Wirtz – 7/10

Wirtz showed enough quality to excite supporters about the future. While adapting to the Premier League takes time, his creativity, vision, and technical ability were evident. The German international should become a central figure in Liverpool’s rebuild moving forward.

Rio Ngumoha – 8/10

The breakthrough star of the season. In a campaign that often lacked positives, Ngumoha emerged as one of Liverpool’s most exciting young talents. His fearless performances brought energy and optimism whenever he played. Several observers highlighted him as one of the season’s biggest positives. Liverpool supporters have every reason to be excited about his future.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool: Final Verdict

The 2025/26 season ultimately fell short of expectations. Liverpool finished fifth, exited cup competitions earlier than hoped, and struggled with injuries throughout the campaign. However, securing Champions League qualification ensured the season avoided complete disaster. If there is one positive to take away, it is that Liverpool still possess a talented core featuring players such as Van Dijk, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, and Ngumoha.
